====== Ascending ====== There are countless ways to ascend a rope, here are a few simple ones: === Reverso style Belay device as ascending ratchett === * set up belay device in autoblock mode * build leg prussik * go up, if you want to rappel undweight belay device, clip biner behin belay device into harness & rappel === Garder Hitch (one way ratchett) === * loop rope through 2 biners * go round and through one === Grigri/ reverso style and ascender === * attach leg loop to ascender * grigri/reverso as ratchett * 3:1 by passing rope through biner on ascender *(if not possible knot a loop into the top of the leg loop and use for biner) === ...or use set of texas prussiks === **REMEMBER! Always use backup knots.. clove hitches below ratchett to belay loop OR panic/catastrophe knots, about every 3m**
